House of Hope

Resource City Church Karratha is an active supporter of House of Hope in Indonesia:

Mike and Ann Hill live in Adelaide South Australia. While travelling during 1999 they were confronted with the great needs of children in Asia. They witnessed first-hand the terrible effects of children being discarded and abused. They saw children that had no existence other than what they could salvage from the streets were they lived. As people with compassionate hearts they took on the challenge of providing care for children in desperate need, to give them not just hope but a secure future. And so Hope Village was birthed. The heart of this organisation can best be summed up in the words of Frederick Douglass – “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men”.

Hope village is focused on caring for the needs of the disadvantaged of Indonesia & their communities in the following ways:

  • meeting the 4 basic needs of children: physical, emotional, educational & spiritual
  • empowering children to become adults contributing back to the nation of Indonesia
  • provide assistance to families living in poverty

As a fellowship we will Honour, recognise and co-operate with the Whole Body of Christ.

What do people at Resource City Church believe?

The following is a simplified extract of the basic foundational beliefs of the Apostolic Church, Australia.
The one true and living God who eternally exists in three persons in unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scripture.
The original perfection of creation; the inherent corruptness of humanity through the Fall; the necessity of repentance and regeneration by grace and through faith in Christ alone, and the eternal separation from God of the finally unrepentant.
The virgin Birth, sinless life atoning death, triumphant resurrection, ascension and continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Second Coming, and eternal Kingdom reign.
The justification and sanctification of believers through the finished work of Christ, their security as they remain in Him, and their future resurrection in an incorruptible body.
The Sacrament of Baptism by immersion, and of the Lord's Supper.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers with supernatural signs, empowering the Church for its mission in the world.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church and ministry to the world.
Christ's leadership of the Church through the ascension ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, for the unity, maturity and growth of the Church.
The privilege and responsibility of wise stewardship of all that God has given, including the practice of tithing to the local church

Affiliation

Resource City Church is one of approximately 100 churches across Australia that are part of the Apostolic Church, Australia. The Apostolic Church began in Australia in 1930 from roots in the UK where the church was an outcome of a Christian revival at the beginning of the 1900s. So, we have been around for a while!
In many ways, the Apostolic Church is not different from other denominations.
In common with most Protestant churches the Apostolic Church holds to the creeds of historic Christianity and is in harmony with orthodox Christian doctrine.
In common with most Pentecostal churches, the Apostolic Church believes worship should be vibrant, reflecting our belief that the supernatural power of God is available for all Christians for daily living.
The issue that most distinguishes us from other Pentecostal churches is our practice of church government. The Apostolic Church has attempted to follow what it sees as the Biblical pattern for this as recorded in the book of Acts.
